Filming - Strengths and Weaknesses

Having shot our music video, I decided to have a look on some of our strengths and weaknesses from the shoot and some area's that were improved on from my preliminary task

Strengths

• Punctual
• Plenty of footage filmed
• Various shot types used
• Kept to the storyboard and shot list to some extent
• Each member fulfilled their task on the day of the shoot
• Filmed plenty of behind the scenes footage

Weaknesses

• Could have used some more time to film the band interview and other DVD extras, but we will be doing this at a later dat
• Some of the shots have people in or the ipod speakers in. But this shouldnt matter too much because of the amount of shots we got
• It took a lot longer for the band to set up than first thought
• Some shots took longer than expected

In terms of progress from the preliminary task, I think that this shoot was much calmer and relaxed because we were so prepared. We filmed plenty more footage for this main task and more variety of shot types which helps in post production. However timing was also an issue from the preliminary task, and even though we allocated about 3 hours for the shoot, because of the technical aspects and the location we were in, it took much longer to move from shot to shot and motivate the band to perform again.
